Details about the upcoming crossover between ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ has finally been revealed…
The enemy for the huge four-way crossover in The CW/DC Universe finally has a face.
And it’s a lot of them.
The superheroes will team up this season to go up against an alien race known as the Dominators based on the 1988 DC comic book event known as “Invasion”.
In the “Invasion” storyline, the Dominators put together an alliance of many alien factions with the sole purpose of invading Earth and eliminating the metahuman threat that they believe could eventually put them in harms way. In reality, the Dominators want to harness the power of the metahumans so they can build their own super powered army. In the the mega-event, the Dominators actually conquer Australia and get into several key battles with heroes from around the planet before finally being defeated in the end.
“We’re using cutting-edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look, which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane’s interpretation of the characters,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement.
There has been a ton of speculation about what event would finally bring together all four superhero series now airing on the CW and this seems like the kind of crossover that will span several episodes this season.
‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ had done a crossover previously before ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ joined in for a three-way crossover last season. Now with ‘Supergirl’ officially part of the same universe, that show will also get into the mix with the “Invasion” storyline.
There’s no exact date for when the “Invasion” crossover will kick off, but ‘The Flash’ will return next Tuesday night at 8pm while ‘Arrow’ debuts on Wednesday at 8pm. That’s followed by ‘Supergirl’ on Monday, October 10 at 8pm ET and then finally ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ at 8pm ET on Thursday, October 13.
