In the Arrow recap for the season 4 premiere, Star City moves on without Oliver when a new villain arrives with deadly intentions…

My name is Oliver Queen! No other opening gets me as pumped as that line, but sadly it wasn’t in this one.
After a quick recap of season three, we see Oliver running for his life, or is he. It turns out he is just taking a daily run. Part of his domestic boring new life. With the boring friends, the boring meals, basically the life we all live. The scene then cuts to Thea and Laurel, both on a motorcycle, chasing some bad guys. As they shoot, and miss badly, Thea jumps in the truck and takes a few out. Dig then joins the fun and helps dispatch a few bad guys of his own. Laurel and her bike take out the trucks tires, but the bad guys have back-up and they end up getting away when they scatter Team Dig with some shots from a big ole 50 cal gun.
The scene then shifts to a-locker room, where the team has a lap top and they talk about how they got away with the bomb. Laurel says the team needs some “help” but Dig is adamant about not calling him. Thea doesn’t care, she just wants to fight. We then see Detective Dad sitting at a table arguing with some officials, when a man walks in and says he has what it takes to “fix” the city. As they throw him out, he threatens them all. Then we see Oli and Felicity brunching with a couple. Oli quickly flashes back to a roof top scene. He tries to kill someone but Waller captures him instead.
The scene then cuts to Laurel and the DA who goes down after being poisoned. It soon turns out to half of the City leadership team going down, all but Det. Dad. Black Canary comes to help just in time. Dad suffers a slight shot but nothing big. Obviously this team needs some “help”.
Oli and Felicity are eating a fancy dinner and just as Oli sets off to get the surprise dessert, a knock at the door interrupts them. It is Thea and Laurel, and they talk Oli into coming back to help out with these new baddies. It then cuts to a flashback of Oli and Weller talking about him letting loose and not holding back who he really is. Just when he gets up to go, he gets wobbly and notices he has been drugged, everything goes black. Next up is the team trying to convince Dig to work with Oli. He is still very very pissed off, I mean can you blame him? The city does need all the help it can get though.
Oli tries to fall into his old form but the team just kind of stink eyes him. Dig tells Laurel to talk to her father, and then he goes home. Thea is more than happy to head out and hit the streets. Lance and Laurel argue about the vigilantes, much like last season, but he finally kind of almost agrees. It then cuts to Dig and Layla setting baby Sara down to sleep and he explains how he isn’t keen on Oli being back. After a little coaxing from Layla, she always wins their fights, he feels a bit better. The scene then cuts to Oliver figuring out that Felicity has been helping the team all along. Their special moment gets interrupted by a computer beep. The team shows up to the baddies hideout and they see the man from earlier imtimitalking (yep I just made that up) to his team. He then places his finger tips on a man and he magically does something or another to him and the team jumps to action. They get a few beatings in, before the SCPD shows up and they have to run. Just before leaving Oli finds out that the baddies are going to blow up the new train station. I can’t believe Oli showed up to work and didn’t bring his suit. Damn it!
The team is back in the locker room, and Oli starts to explain that what they saw wasn’t a meta-human thing, but a mystical thing. The scene cuts to the train station where Oli is lecturing Thea on how to control herself. Then Dig lays it down on Oli, and Lance spots him and yells at him as well. Nothing has really changed, just your typical day in Starling…well Star City.
A quick flashback to Oli on a big plane, a man informs him at gunpoint that he will be doing this little mission for Weller. As the door opens up Oli is stunned to see Lian – Yu! The scene cuts to Oli and Felicity having a heart to heart about what to do. So much confusion in Oli’s heart and mind. Domestication vs Darkness, kind of like we all battle…or some of us. The team realizes that it’s not the station that has the bomb, but the train. It’s time to suit up, yes it’s time to reveal the suit. Felicity pulls the sheet off to reveal the most beautiful suit to date. Cisco sure knows how to make some fashionable suits and upgrades. He’s the Vera Wang of the superhero world.
Dig and Oli try to get on the speeding train, only to find the mystery man on it. As Thea and Laurel clear the station, Oli tries to stop…Damien Dark! He fails miserably, and has to be saved by Dig. Just as the two of them jump off the train, they blow it up and the city is saved, for now. Back in the hideout, Oli explains how the head baddy is Damien, and how he is worse than Ras ever was. He then has Felicity hack all of Star City’s broadcasts and he gives the city the promise of, THE GREEN ARROW!
The scene then cuts to Damien doing some kind of voodoo type magic thing. Det. Dad shows up and Damien says he wants all the info on this new Green Arrow. Hopefully Lance is only helping because he has to, not because he wants revenge on Oli. The scene cuts to a futureback of Oli in front of a grave six months down the road. Barry shows up to give his condolences, but Oli tells him to go away. He then kneels down and…nothing, I guess we are going to have to wait and see who is dead.
Very good start to this season. Will the team come together in time to save Star City, or will the Dark one rule all. What will happen to Oli’s love life now that he is back in the saddle. Most importantly, who dies in six months. Leave me a comment on what you think of episode one, and who might be six feet under.
