In the Arrow recap, Dig battles ghosts while Oliver finds the best way to battle the Darhk….

Team Arrow or Team Dig, depending on who you ask, starts off by stopping a truck robbery. Or a money burning crime?? All they wanted to do was stop the money from getting to the city bank. Black Canary blasts a guy, then Dig steps in by driving into one. Thea finishes one, and has to stop herself from thrusting her sword into him. Oliver drops one, but the last guy still gets the bomb into the back of the truck, BOOM goes the money.
Back at the Arrow cave they talk shop on why HIVE, ie Damian Darhk, wants to burn money. Dig sits down Oliver and gives him a folder. It said Andy, Dig’s brother, was actually killed because his crime travels conflicted with HIVES.
Ray heads to Oli and Felicity’s apartment to talk with Felicity. She shows him the tooth, from a few weeks ago, and asks him to help find out about it. After a little Palmer magic, he finds out that WOLFMAN biologics has the patent on the tech used to make the tooth untraceable.
Alex gives Oli the run down on his next meeting and keynote and his platform. He gets a phone call and it gives Oli and Alex a few minutes to flirt. He rushes back in and Thea leaves with him to take care of a tooth issue. The team breaks into Wolfman. A bunch of GHOSTS show up and Oli and Thea take them out. Laurel and Dig find the liquid, and then Laurel runs off to help Oli. Dig de-masks one of the GHOSTS and finds that it is Andy, his brother. The guy does a quick spin on Dig and takes off. Can you say brain-washed? Or maybe…
Back at Arrow cave. The team worries about weather or not Andy is under HIVES control or not. Dig can’t come to grips with the fact that Andy is alive.
Darhk and Lance have a “session” and Darhk questions why Arrow showed up last week. He basically threatens Lance and leaves.
Malcolm, who has been trying to get ahold of Thea, shows up to her apartment. He gives her a file of a pedophile, to kill. You know to help control her bloodlust. The, mayoral team, show up to Oli’s fundraiser thing? Lance and Oli chat and Lance tells him about a paper he found in Darhk’s room. Something about slip 52 on the docks.
Laurel tries to help Dig out by bringing him a club soda and her ear. She tries to make him understand that he should appreciate the fact that Andy is alive. Dig doesn’t take it well, and breaks down a bit explaining that he may have traded his live so Andy’s son and wife could see him, but not now.
Oliver is smoozing a bit and in comes Darhk to talk about how he can help his campaign. Darhk gives him the “what we can do if we work together” thing. He asks Oliver to leave some things alone and Oli asks what will happen if he doesn’t do as he asks. Darhk gets very serious and lets him know that if he doesn’t do it, then he will no longer be running unopposed. Oliver did a very good job hiding the fact that he knows Darhk, but doesn’t know Darhk.
Felicity and Oli talk in the Arrow cave. Oli says that he may want to work with Darhk, so he can get close. Felicity explains to him that he shouldn’t worry about Darhk so much, but he should worry about giving the city hope.
Thea and Alex are out on a date and they have some small talk a bit before Alex gets a call. A creepy guy walks up to Thea and offers a drink. She quickly and viscously attacks the guy. Alex gets there just in time to stop her from possibly killing him.
Dig and Layla talk about Andy being back, and the fact that he has to tell his wife and kid. Oliver shows up and asks Dig about how he is feeling. He gives the info Lance gave him and the boys decide to head to the shutdown docks. Darhk has a bunch of people on said docks and he offers them the HIVE way or the highway. Someone notices Dig and Oli checking them out and they set to chase. Andy wants the “green one” dead. Oh snap a fight breaks out. Dig dispatches of a few guys, and Oli does too but he gets blown back, with a HIVE guy on his back, by a grenade. Dig, super kicks a dude, and heads to Oli’s side. He throws an arrow, yeah throws and arrow, into some dude, and grabs Oli and runs. The arrow explodes just when three more HIVErs show up and goes off. That was a quick and cool fight scene.
After Oli gets patched up, Dig lays into him about letting it go. He yells to stop believing in Andy, because Andy didn’t believe in his family. Dig also lays into him about “getting into bed” with Darhk. He yells that stopping Darhk while working for him is the same thing he did with the league. He tells him that they need to stop Darhk “in the light”. I think he means as Oli and Dig? But I’m not totally sure.
Ray is hard at work on the tooth, and Felicity walks in. Ray is basically hiding because he doesn’t like what has happened while he was “dead”. He then goes into talking about the tooth and reading its DNA. He finds a place that should/could be Darhk’s hideout. The team suits up and heads in. Dig tries to stop the team, but they won’t give up on Andy, even though it seems Dig has. Has he, or is he just being stubborn? This wouldn’t be the first time he was stubborn.
It turns out the shutdown psych place is the base and they have a whole lot of ghosts to deal with. They head in, with new tech in hand, Oli notices that things don’t look exactly right, and warns the team to hold for his word. But the girls are a bit busy fending off ghosts. Let me just say that Laurel aka Black Canary has turned into one straight bad ass fighter. Anyway, back to the show
They notice Andy has Thea trapped, and they end up in an elevator, and then into the hall, then finally Thea subdues him. The team is having a little trouble, but just then Ray shows up, and helps out. Thea is searching the halls when she finds Darhk. He calls her Merida, you know from Brave, and then pulls some of his voodoo magic stuff and materializes behind her. He notices that she has been trained by Malcolm and then he places his hand on her, but his magic fails. Don’t worry Damien it happens to every guy…
Ray and Oli are fending off the countless number of ghosts, and Oli tells Ray to go help Laurel with Andy. Once he leaves, Oli handles the last few guys, except he runs out of arrows, but Dig pops the very last one. Gee thanks for showing up after the fighting is over Dig. That has to be what Oli is thinking. He makes it ok by saying his “brother needed help, the green one”
Back at Arrow cave, the team chats, while Dig thanks them for helping. Before Dig heads to talk with Andy, Oli tells him he was right about fighting Darhk in the day.
Thea calls on Malcolm to help, but tells him she may have found a way to control the bloodlust. She explains what happened between her and Damian. She asks Malcolm to figure out a way to use Darhk’s magic in a positive way.
Things don’t go so well between Andy and Dig. He admits to all the bad stuff in his file.
Thea talks to Alex about the other night, but he seems scared. Oli begins his speech by throwing a fun dig at Alex. The speech is basically a shot towards Darhk.
Next show is the two part crossover, the Flarrow if you will.
This was a fantastic episode. One of this season’s best. It was the directorial debut of James Bamford, the stunt coordinator. Hopefully we see more of him.
