Arrow is closing in on the mid-season finale as Barry Allen comes to town….
By Chris Smolinski — Staff Writer
So its been a couple of weeks since we have seen our favorite superhero at work, or at least my favorite. Last we saw the Queens, Momma Arrow, Moira was being released from prison after a non guilty verdict. In an even bigger turn of events we learned that Malcolm Merlin is very much alive, and he was the reason Moira was released. In return for his help Malcolm said that Moira had to tell the dark secret. The secret that Thea is actually the love child of Moira and Malcolm.
Cue this weeks episode, it starts with a factory, and a LARGE banging on the door. It seems to get louder and harder, and suddenly the reinforced titanium door fall off its hinges, and a hulking super soldier enters taking out two guards and stealing a centrifuge. Oliver, Dig, Felicity, and Quentin are at the scene of the crime, trying to figure things out and in walks, Barry Allen who claims to be a C.S.I. agent from Central City.
They crew find out where the “muscle” is, and the Arrow goes after him. Oliver tries to stop the bad guy by sticking an arrow in his leg, but it isn’t long until Oli is thrown from the truck and the bad guy gets away…kind of.
After a quick patch up, Oliver explains why he is so worried about this serum. Oliver gives the bloodied , and bent up arrow head to Felicity so she can analyze it and they can try to get ahead of the “muscle”.
Back flash to Oli, Slade, Sara, and Shado coming upon the infamous boat with the infamous drug.
Felicity and Barry analyze before Oli busts in and blows Barry’s cover, that he isn’t there to work the case, but actually to help find his mothers real killer. Barry explains that he saw this blur of a vision, and before he could intervene, he was blown away from his house. Do I detect a hint of jealousy? Oh Oli, now now.
Time for the infamous Queens party…er so we thought it would be, but no one shows up to celebrate with Moira and the family. Oliver apologizes to Felicity the best way he can, by inviting Barry to the party. Just when I think its ok for Oli and Felicity to get closer, in swoops Barry and the googly eyes begin.
Flask back, they enter the sunken ship and look for the serum, with no sedative, they decide to just give it to the dying Slade.
Moira is up to more no good, with a mysterious guest, which turns out that she contacted Ras Al Ghul, and Ras wants to take care of Merlin himself. That should keep him at bay, for now.
After finding cadamine in the blood, they figure out that there is only one place that he will attack. Roy and Sin find her missing friend, and Roy presses the Arrow to help. After a short argument, Roy threatens to go alone and ends up with an arrow in his knee for his troubles.
Back flash, they inject Slade, and after a bit of screaming, he seems to die. The doctor busts in.
After Oli and Roy’s little encounter, the Arrow shows up at the factory and confronts the “muscle”. The Arrow’s speed and quickness help him a little, but after a few arrows to the feet, the “muscle” gets the best of Oli, and throws him into a shelf, it shows that Oliver is stuck with two needles of something. Felicity and Dig show up and Oliver is barely alive. They “kidnap” Barry and the show ends with Felicity asking him to help save him.
Be sure to tune in next week for the powerful mid season finale.
