The CW has decided to give an unprecedented renewal to their entire slate of original programming including Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow…
It looks the CW is in for the long haul when it comes to their growing roster of DC Universe adaptations.
On Friday, the network officially ordered renewals for all of their original programming including — Arrow for season 5, The Flash for season 3 and Legends of Tomorrow for season 2.
“The CW has become home to some of the most critically acclaimed shows on broadcast television, with a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas,” CW president Pedowitz said in a release. “As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016-17 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017.”
All three of the original comic book series have received critical acclaim since joining the network with Arrow being the first before The Flash was a spinoff and then eventually Legends of Tomorrow doing the same.
Considering the investment the CW is making in DC Universe series, it’s hard to imagine they wouldn’t entertain adding another one at some point down the road.
