Ben Affleck will put on the cape and cowl again to play Batman opposite Jason Momoa in the upcoming sequel “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”…
Despite Jason Momoa’s best efforts, he just couldn’t keep a big time cameo in his upcoming film “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” a secret any longer.
On Thursday, Momoa revealed via Instagram that Ben Affleck would return to play Batman in the “Aquaman” sequel that’s due out on March 17, 2023.
This is the second cameo that Affleck will make after it appeared he put Batman behind him for good following some reshoots for “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.” Affleck also signed on to appear in “The Flash” movie starring Ezra Miller that will also welcome Michael Keaton back as Batman during a multiverse spanning adventure due out on June 23, 2023.
By all accounts, Affleck was done playing Batman after making several appearances as the character in films such as “Batman V. Superman” and “Suicide Squad” but now he’s coming back for at least a cameo role in two more DC movies coming next year.
Initially, Affleck planned on starring in his own Batman feature film that he was writing and directing but he ultimately left the project that was supposed to spell the end of his time playing the character. Robert Pattinson ended up taking on the role with “The Batman,” which received rave reviews earlier this year.
Momoa celebrated being back on set with Affleck, who is fresh off his wedding to Jennifer Lopez, as the former “Justice League” co-stars return for the highly anticipated “Aquaman” sequel.
The film will be directed by James Wan, who also led the first “Aquaman” movie, and now he’ll have an even bigger cast now that Affleck is confirmed to return as Batman.
