The series originally starred Damian Lewis as hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod, who continuously butted heads with Chuck Rhoades (played by Paul Giamatti) as he attempted to topple the billionaire first as U.S. district attorney and then as New York State Attorney General.
Lewis left the series at the conclusion of “Billions” season 5 as he planned to spend more time at home with his family in England following the tragic death of his wife, actress Helen McCrory.
In his place stepped Corey Stoll as billionaire magnate Mike Prince, who actually helps stop Axe and then buys him out of his own company where he takes over. The latest season of “Billions” has seen Prince ambitiously attempt to orchestrate a move to bring the Olympics to New York City while Chuck does everything in his power to stop him.
The new season of “Billions” just kicked off in January, which means production on season 7 won’t likely start until later this year.
