Breaking Bad Creator Says Jesse Pinkman’s Fate Probably Ended with Him in Prison

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan says in the real world Jesse Pinkman’s freedom at the end of the series would probably be very short lived….

The ending of Breaking Bad may go down as the greatest of all-time (or at least that’s what we said back when the series ended a few weeks ago) but there were always going to be a few unanswered questions that remained looming overhead.

None bigger than the ultimate fate of Jesse Pinkman after his tire-screeching escape from Nazi hell where he was forced to be a meth cook for months upon months until his former mentor came in guns blazing and saved his life.

Jesse roared out into the night, screaming in elation, happy to finally feel free air on his face again. Following that quick exit from the Nazi compound, Jesse isn’t seen again so of course everyone is curious did he end up having a life happily ever after or did some other tragic fate befall this already tortured character?

In an interview with GQ recently, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan says that in a perfect world Jesse is living in Alaska under an assumed name presumably telling some Eskimos ‘yeah bitch’ while keeping tabs on young Brock Cantillo.

Unfortunately what we want to happen and what actually happens are rarely the same thing.

“My personal feeling is that he got away. But the most likely thing, as negative as this sounds, is that they’re going to find this kid’s fingerprints all over this lab and they’re going to find him within a day or a week or a month. And he’s still going to be on the hook for the murder of two federal agents,” Gilligan explained. “But yeah, even though that’s the most likely outcome, the way I see it is that he got away and got to Alaska, changed his name, and had a new life. You want that for the kid. He deserves it.”

Poor Pinkman…poor little Pinkman.
