The first teaser for ‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 has arrived with plenty of clues about what’s to come…
‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 will debut on July 16, but now we’ve also got the first teaser for what lies ahead when the seven episodes premiere this summer.
The teaser features sigils from many of the famous houses of Westeros with dialogue from Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister and several others.
With each sigil that represents a house and those houses continue to bite, scratch and claw at each other for control over the Seven Kingdoms, there are two very large looming threats haunting the entire trailer.
There’s Daenerys Targyaren with her ominous declaration that one house is always conquering another in Westeros all while crushing the people below them on the ground. These houses are all just spokes on the wheel and she intends to break it. As you may remember, Daenerys was sailing to Westeros when we last saw her at the end of ‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, which is clearly an indication of the war to come as she looks to reclaim the Iron Throne and the Targaryen dynasty.
Meanwhile, the end of the trailer gives us our first real look at the new season with a warning directly from Jon Snow that is dialogue that’s never been heard before.
“The same thing is coming for all of us. There’s only one war that matters. The great war. And it is here.”
Jon’s warning comes as all of the house sigils crumble and fall before a symbol is revealed — the spiral pattern that was once a symbol used in ancient rituals from the Children of the Forest. The same spiral pattern that is now left in the wake of the White Walkers whenever they leave a trail of dead bodies behind them.
Don’t forget, the Children of the Forest created the first White Walker — the Night King — in an attempt to build an army that would fight back the advances of mankind as they invaded Westeros. Now those same soldiers of the dead are amassing troops to cross the Wall and then wipe out every bit of life left in the world.
Now we see that same spiral pattern at the end of the ‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 teaser trailer before the image dissolves into a blue eye — the same blue eye belonging to the Night King, who will soon find a way past the Wall and back into the realms of men.
Needless to say, with only two seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’ remaining war is coming and it’s coming soon.
‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 debuts on Sunday night, July 16 at 9pm ET on HBO and stay tuned to Nerdcore Movement for a full season preview as well as recaps of every episode.
