In a bit of shocking news on Friday, director Edgar Wright has dropped out of Marvel’s Ant-Man just as the project was gearing up for a 2015 release date…
For the past few years, director Edgar Wright has been the only name attached to the Marvel film adaptation of ‘Ant-Man’. Best known for his work on comedies like ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Hot Fuzz’, this was the director’s first chance to get his hands on a Marvel film, expected to be one of the biggest movies released next year.
Now it seems the relationship between ‘Ant-Man’ and Wright has soured as the British born director is reportedly out of the movie and will be replaced.
Marvel’s official statement on the change stated ‘creative differences’ led to Wright’s exit from the movie and a new replacement will be announced shortly. The release date for the movie remains the same — July 17, 2015
‘Ant-Man’ stars Paul Rudd in the lead role as Scott Lang along with Michael Douglas, who plays the original ‘Ant-Man’ Hank Pym.
Stay tuned for details on a new director for ‘Ant-Man’ when the information becomes available.
