Production on Captain Marvel has kicked off with several familiar faces joining the cast that already stars Brie Larson and Jude Law…
Captain Marvel has officially kicked off production in Los Angeles.
The film starring Oscar winner Brie Larson in the lead role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel already landed several major co-stars including Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn in a new role.

In addition to production officially getting underway on the highly anticipated feature, Captain Marvel also added several more actors to the cast that will see some past characters return from the dead. Well technically this movie takes place in the early 1990’s so really some of these characters just haven’t been killed yet.
Most notably returning for Captain Marvel is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg, who will reprise his role as Phil Coulson. In the early Marvel films, Coulson was one of the key SHIELD agents to help bring together the heroes that would one day be known as The Avengers.
Also joining the cast will be Lee Pace (Ronan the Accuser) and Djimon Hounsou (Korath the Pursuer), who both appeared in the original Guardians of the Galaxy movie directed by James Gunn.
There’s still no word on the story for Captain Marvel other than the fact that it takes place in the past, long before Iron Man or any of the other major Marvel movies.
Captain Marvel will hit theaters on March 8, 2019.
