Chiwetel Ejiofor — best known for his roles in ’12 Years a Slave’ as well as ‘Serenity’ and ‘American Gangster’ — has signed on to play the villain in the upcoming ‘Doctor Strange’ movie from Marvel. Ejiofor will play Baron Mordo — a sorcerer who trained alongside Dr. Stephen Strange under the guidance of ‘The Ancient One’ but eventually turned on his teacher before trying to kill him. Since that time, Baron Mordo has been at odds with Doctor Strange with both of them possessing magical abilities and a ton of other mystical powers. Ejiofor will join the cast opposite Benedict Cumberbatch, who is set to play Doctor Strange while ‘The Ancient One’ will undergo a gender swap from the comic books and will now be played by Tilda Swinton in the movie. ‘Doctor Strange’ opens in theaters on November 4, 2016.
