Colin Farrell will go from being a ‘True Detective’ to a wizard in the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’….
Following a stint on ‘True Detective’ season 2, which wraps up this Sunday night, Colin Farrell has officially signed on to star in the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff movie ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’.
Farrell will play Graves — a wizard who Newt Scamander (played by Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne) encounters during his travels through New York as he documents the magical creatures who inhabit our world.
The movie takes place in the same wizarding world as Harry Potter, but don’t expect a crossover — the film is set about 70 years prior to the events that happen in the Harry Potter novels.
‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ opens in theaters on November 18, 2016.
