The new alien invasion drama Colony has officially been renewed for season 2 at USA Network…
Colony — the alien invasion series created by Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal — has officially been renewed for a second season at USA after only three episodes of the freshman season aired.
The show starring Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies focuses on a family living in an occupied zone in Los Angeles, who are forced to deal with a new world order of authority in the wake of a complete takeover on Earth. While Will (Holloway) is forced to work for the new occupational government under the thumb of the alien overlords, his wife Katie (Callies) is secretly working behind his back with a group known as the Resistance, who hope to overthrow the current rulers and fight back against the alien invaders.
Based on the first four episodes (the fourth aired on Thursday night), Colony is definitely becoming appointment TV each week and showcases another series worth watching from USA (the other being Mr. Robot, which was our best show of 2015).
“Carlton and Ryan have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “Colony’s performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can’t wait to see where the story takes us.”
Colony is still very much in its infancy but if the first few episodes are any indication, this seems to be a show that USA can call a moderate hit both critically and commercially.
