Connie Nielsen — best known for roles in Gladiator and The Devil’s Advocate — has been cast to play Wonder Woman’s mother in the upcoming Wonder Woman film from Warner Bros. due out on June 23, 2017.
Nielsen will play Hippoyta — the Queen of the Amazons and mother to Princess Diana — better known as Wonder Woman.
Nielsen is the latest addition to an all-star cast headed up by Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman along with Chris Pine, Robin Wright, and Danny Huston.
The film is currently shooting in the United Kingdom and Italy.
Gadot will debut as Wonder Woman in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice coming out on March 25 before starring in her own feature film due out in 2017.
