American Crime Story — a new anthology/sister series to ‘American Horror Story’ by creator Ryan Murphy — will debut next year with the focus of year one on ‘The People vs. O.J. Simpson’. The series will focus on the famous trial of former NFL great O.J. Simpson and the murder of his wife Nicole and Ronald Goldman.
Now the series has found an Oscar winner to star as Simpson with Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire) being cast as the former Heisman Trophy winner.
The plot of the story will focus on the trial from the perspective of the attorney’s on the case and there will be another familiar face on that side of the courtroom as well.
Sarah Paulson — best known for her roles during the four seasons of ‘American Horror Story’ — will play prosecutor Marcia Clark in the upcoming TV series.
The show will shoot next year with a fall 2015 debut date on FX expected.
