The CW has renewed all of it’s DC superhero shows for 2017-2018 and there might even be more on the way….
The CW has kept the drama to a minimum when it comes to the DC superhero shows that decorate a large part of their schedule by offering early renewals to the multitude of series currently airing on the network.
The streak was kept alive on Sunday when the CW officially announced that all four DC shows — ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ — were being renewed for the 2017-2018 calendar. The CW also renewed ‘Supernatural’ for season 13 along with ‘Jane the Virgin’ and ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’.
“Over the past several seasons, The CW has built a schedule of proven performers, from our lineup of DC superheroes, to critically acclaimed comedies, to sci-fi dramas,” The CW’s Mark Pedowitz said in a press release.
“Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long.”
‘Arrow’ is the longest running series amongst the bunch as the show approaches season 6 later this year.
Meanwhile, ‘The Flash’ has provided the highest ratings for the network and will continue to move forward into season 4 in the second half of 2017.
‘Supergirl’ just debuted on The CW for season 2 after originally airing on CBS, but the show has picked up very good ratings thus far and was an easy decision to return for a third season.
DC chief Geoff Johns also teased that another superhero series could be on the way soon although he didn’t mention whether or not that would be on the CW.

No matter where that show ends up, it’s clear DC’s extended universe on television is stronger than ever before.
