Daniel Bruhl has joined the cast of “Captain America 3: Civil War” but who is the German born actor set to play?
Daniel Bruhl — best known for his roles in films such as “Rush” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” — has joined the cast of “Captain America 3: Civil War”.
Marvel made the announcement about Bruhl’s addition to the cast, although left out any details about which character he might be playing in the upcoming film.
“With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes,” said producer Kevin Feige.
Speculation based on the original Civil War storyline from the comics might suggest Bruhl playing the part of Doctor Faustus, a brilliant and diabolical psychiatrist, who eventually gets mixed up with Captain America when working with the Red Skull as an inside man with S.H.I.E.L.D.
He plays a major part in the Civil War plot, especially towards the end of the series involving a major twist with Captain America. Whether or not Faustus is the role Bruhl will play remains to be seen.
The general plot of Civil War storyline involves Tony Stark’s desire to pass a Superhero Registration Act, which would require all masked superheroes to reveal their true identities and register with the Federal government. Captain America is a staunch advocate against the law and mayhem ensues shortly thereafter as the heroes go to battle for what they believe is right.
“Captain America 3: Civil War” opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
