Several actresses are testing for the role of Domino in ‘Deadpool 2’…
‘Deadpool 2’ will definitely see a much bigger cast than the last film with iconic characters Cable and Domino expected to appear in the movie due out in 2018.
Of course first things first, ‘Deadpool 2’ needs to find a new director after Tim Miller left the project over creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds and there are reports that it had to do with casting for Cable. Miller apparently wanted ‘Bloodline’ star Kyle Chandler and Reynolds had other ideas and the studio ultimately backed the ‘Deadpool’ star over the director.
With that being said, there are testings ongoing for the part of Domino — a mutant with the ability to alter her ‘luck’ in any given situation while also acting as a mercenary, assassin and sometimes lover to Cable from the multiple comic books they’ve shared together over the years.
According to The Wrap, these are some of the key names testing for the role of Domino.
Lizzy Caplan — best known for her roles in Showtime’s ‘Masters of Sex’ and ‘True Blood’ on HBO
Sienna Miller — best known for her roles in ‘Foxcatcher’ and ‘American Sniper’
Sofia Boutella — from ‘Star Trek: Beyond’
Mackenzie Davis — best known from roles in ‘The Martian’ and ‘Halt and Catch Fire’
Stephanie Sigman — from ‘Spectre’
Sylvia Hoeks — from the upcoming ‘Blade Runner’ sequel
Ruby Rose — from ‘Orange is the New Black’ and the upcoming ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’
Kelly Rohrbach — from the upcoming ‘Baywatch’ remake movie
Eve Hewson — best known from ‘The Knick’ on Cinemax and ‘Bridge of Spies’
There’s no word how deep into casting ‘Deadpool 2’ might be with these actresses testing for the role of Domino, but with the loss of Miller on Friday, it could set things back a bit.
Based on the actresses from this list, a couple stand out right away — Mackenzie Davis has been outstanding in the AMC series ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ and Ruby Rose certainly looks the part and has turned into a great action actress with her upcoming roles in ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’ alongside Vin Diesel as well as ‘John Wick 2’ with Keanu Reeves.
Lizzy Caplan is another top notch actress, who seems like the kind of actress that would fit in with the cast from the first ‘Deadpool’ movie that includes Reynolds, Morena Baccarin and T.J. Miller.
‘Deadpool 2’ is due out in 2018 from FOX.
