Following another summer filled with top ratings, CBS has officially renewed Under the Dome for a third season. The show was met once again with good numbers all summer long averaging 11 million viewers week over week with 2.7 million coming in the coveted 18-49 demographic.
“We’re committed to delivering our viewers and advertisers year-round programming with a wide variety of storytelling,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. “We continue to see summer as a great place for unique concepts, innovative business models and passionate television audiences.”
In addition to Under the Dome, CBS also renewed alien conspiracy series Extant for a second season on Thursday.
Both shows will return to the CBS lineup in the summer of 2015.
