Fargo season 3 has just added a major star with Ewan McGregor signing on to star in two roles as a pair of brothers in Minnesota…
Fargo season 3 is wasting no time adding a heavy hitter to the cast.
Ewan McGregor — best known for Trainspotting, the Star Wars prequels and about 20 other films — has been cast in the lead role for the upcoming third season of the anthology series on FX.
McGregor is set to star as two brothers — Emmit and Ray Stussy — who are polar opposites in terms of their standing in the community.
Emmit Stussy is known as “the parking lot king of Minnesota” — a real estate mogul and all American family man. Meanwhile Ray is a balding, pot bellied parole officer, who blames his brother for his woes in life.
There aren’t many other details about Fargo season 3 other than the show will jump ahead to 2010 following season 2, which was set back in the 1970’s. Show runner Noah Hawley is still the man in charge with production on the series starting later this year for a debut date most likely in the spring of 2017.
With McGregor already cast in the lead role, expect a few more recognizable names to join him as Fargo season 3 gets underway.
