The first rule of Fight Club is you do not make sequels to Fight Club – but that’s exactly what creator Chuck Palahniuk is doing…
‘Fight Club’ creator Chuck Palahniuk is bringing his most popular novel (and eventual hit film) back to life in the form of a 10-issue sequel that will be released by Dark Horse Comics starting in April 2015.
More details about the release will be made this weekend at San Diego Comic Con, but the plan is for the book written by Palahniuk and drawn by artist Cameron Stewart to focus on the story before and after the famous 1996 novel as well as the film.
The story begins with this premise:
It picks up a decade after the ending of his original book, where the protagonist is married to equally problematic Marla Singer and has a 9-year-old son named Junior, though the narrator is failing his son in the same way his dad failed him.
Interesting to be sure, but to add yet another wrinkle onto this story, Palahniuk also adds a little supernatural feel to this upcoming comic book with one additional note about seminal character Tyler Durden.
“Tyler is something that maybe has been around for centuries and is not just this aberration that’s popped into his mind,” Palahniuk said.
The first issue of ‘Fight Club 2’ will be released from Dark Horse in April 2015.
