The final trailer for ‘Joker’ arrived on Wednesday with a closer look at what drives Arthur Fleck mad as he becomes the Clown Prince of Crime…
‘Joker’ will land in theaters on October 4 and the final trailer for the Todd Phillips’ directed feature was released on Wednesday.
The film centers around a man named Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), who is struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. It’s clear Arthur wants to try and make people laugh but it appears more often times than not, he’s the butt of the joke more than anything else.
Judging by the final trailer, Arthur’s descent into madness is pushed along by several people he encounters, including an outspoken late night talk show host played by Robert DeNiro. There’s also a chilling encounter between Arthur and his social worker where he admits he doesn’t have anything but negative thoughts running through his head.
There’s even an interesting encounter between Arthur and Thomas Wayne — father to the future Batman, Bruce Wayne — who punches the clown-for-hire after an argument.
