The second Captain America film tilted Captain America: The Winter Soldier won’t hit theaters until April 2014, but with San Diego Comic Con just around the corner, Marvel has released their first teaser poster for the new movie.
The film will be based on Ed Brubaker’s popular 2004 comic book run involving Cap and his run in with a bio-engineered assassin called The Winter Soldier. The picture, while not revealing very much at all, does show a dinged up Captain’s shield, which denotes some of the damage he’ll likely take in this upcoming sequel.
The cast returning will include Chris Evans as the man with the American shield along with several regulars from the recent run of Marvel films including Scarlett Johansson and Sameul L. Jackson as well as newcomers such as UFC champion Georges St-Pierre, who landed a small part in the film as villain Batroc the Leaper.
Fans of the comic book series already know the identity of The Winter Soldier, but it will be interesting to see how it’s adapted for the big screen. The producers and stars of the film are expected to unveil footage from the film for the first time at Comic Con next week.
Without further ado here is the full poster for the new film Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
