Director David Ayer released a picture of the cast of ‘Suicide Squad’ after their first read through but one smiling face was missing….
‘Suicide Squad’ from DC and Warner Bros. will be a very ambitious project from the comic book label and movie studio because the film focuses primarily on secondary characters from the DC Universe, but with the star-studded cast, there’s no shortage of name value on the marquee.
Director David Ayer tweeted out a picture on Wednesday revealing the cast after their first read through although Academy Award winner Jared Leto, who plays The Joker, is not there (or at least they didn’t want to show him on camera yet).

The cast picture includes: Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Will Smith (Deadshot), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Jay Hernandez, Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller).
New cast members Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project) and Adam Beach (Big Love) were also revealed in the photo although there’s no word yet on the parts they will play in the movie.
‘Suicide Squad’ opens on August 5, 2016.
