You still have to wait until August 2014 to see the new movie but there’s visual evidence for Guardians of the Galaxy now….
‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ was one of the surprise choices of Marvel Studios to pick from when deciding which of their comic book franchises they would turn into the next major movie.
The space odyssey was handed over to director James Gunn and he began assembling a rag-tag cast of characters and by the end of 2013 he even managed to add a couple of A-list celebrities to do voiceovers (Vin Diesel will voice man-tree Groot, Bradley Cooper will handled furry sidekick Rocket Raccoon).
Now with 2014 kicking off, Marvel has decided to release the first official image and plot teaser for the upcoming movie to start the hype about eight months ahead of time for the release of the new movie.
You can see the image above and now here’s the plot teaser for those that haven’t been keeping up with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’:
“An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.”
The rest of the cast as seen in the picture includes Zoe Saldana as Gamora, former pro wrestler Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Chris Pratt as leader Peter Quill.
Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters on August 1, 2014.
