The new CBS series ‘Supergirl’ has officially started production and Warner Bros. has now released the first two images from the show with star Melissa Benoist wearing the iconic costume. Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood designed the costume worn by Benoist, who plays Kara Zor-El/Kara Danvers aka Supergirl in the series. Atwood is also responsible for designing the costumes for ‘The Flash’ and ‘Arrow’, two other popular shows based on DC Comics characters. “In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today,” Atwood said on Friday.
