A special two-hour documentary called ‘Game of Thrones: The Last Watch’ will debut on HBO the week after the series finale in May…
It’s going to be awfully hard to say goodbye to ‘Game of Thrones’ and HBO definitely knows it.
That’s why the cable network produced a special two-hour documentary called ‘Game of Thrones: The Last Watch’ that will debut on Sunday night, May 26, one week after the series finale airs on HBO.
“For a year, acclaimed British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay was embedded on the set of the hit HBO series “Game of Thrones,” chronicling the creation of the show’s most ambitious and complicated season.
“Debuting SUNDAY, MAY 26 (9:00–11:00 p.m. ET/PT), one week after the series finale, GAME OF THRONES: THE LAST WATCH delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and car-parks of Northern Ireland.
“Much more than a “making of” documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world — and then have to say goodbye to it.”
‘Game of Thrones’ has been the most popular and most watched series in HBO history and this documentary will chronicle the painstaking efforts the cast and crew underwent to give this show a send off like nothing else ever witnessed before.
The final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ debuts on Sunday night, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with the series finale scheduled for Sunday night, May 19. The new documentary ‘Game of Thrones: The Last Watch’ will then debut on Sunday night, May 26.
