HBO has released several photos teasing the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones season 9 titled ‘The Battle of the Bastards’…
Game of Thrones has notoriously made episode 9 of every season the must watch hour of television each year.
In season one, Ned Stark was beheaded in a shocking twist for anyone who hadn’t read the books anyways. In season two, the Battle of Blackwater Bay unfolded as Stannis Baratheon attacked King’s Landing for control of the Iron Throne. Season three culminated in likely the most jaw-dropping moment in television history as the Red Wedding unfolded in gruesome betrayal. Season four was the episode battle between the Night’s Watch and the Wildling army and season five showed Daenerys Targaryen finally mounting her dragon Drogon and riding out of the fighting pits of Meereen following an attack by the Sons of the Harpy.
So season 6 will certainly be another very ambitious episode as Jon Snow leads his army to Winterfell to battle Ramsay Bolton for control of the North in what Game of Thrones producers have called the biggest battle scene in the history of the show.
