The first footage from the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ has finally arrived in a brief clip that was part of an HBO promotional package to advertise what lies ahead for 2019 on the premium cable network.
The scene from ‘Game of Thrones’ shows Daenerys Targaryen arriving at Winterfell alongside the former King in the North Jon Snow as he reunites with his sister Sansa, who greets her new queen with the warm welcome to the North.
Last season saw Jon Snow bend the knee to serve Daenerys in her quest to take the Iron Throne and become the queen of the Seven Kingdoms. That means Daenerys is now the queen of the North as well as she ended last season sailing to the North alongside Jon as they prepare to battle the army of the dead being led south by the Night King.
After Daenerys spent the majority of her time on ‘Game of Thrones’ away from Westeros, she’s making her way through the entire country after setting up a home base at Dragonstone and also make an appearance in King’s Landing for her meeting with Cersei Lannister a season ago.
Now Daenerys has finally arrived at Winterfell — the ancestral home of House Stark — and it appears she will be meeting with Jon Snow’s family before the war between the living and the dead finally begins.
Check out the brief clip above — and this first glimpse of the final season could mean that the first official trailer for ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 could be arriving in the near future. The commercial also gives a first look at the new ‘Watchmen’ series coming from ‘Lost’ co-creator Damon Lindelof that is on its way to HBO later this year.
