HBO released the synopsis and title for the premiere episode of Game of Thrones season 6 and Jon Snow’s fate is revealed….
“Jon Snow is dead”
That’s exactly how HBO opens the door for “The Red Woman” — the first episode of the sixth season of Game of Thrones that debuts on April 24 at 9pm ET.
The full episode description gives out very little detail but that line can’t be mistaken and it looks like the writers and producers behind the show are definitely not giving Kit Harington’s character very much room for survival.
“Jon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again.”
It’s not much to go on, but at least we know those three characters will show up in the premiere episode. A couple of details we can add onto that brief description — Jon Snow may very well be dead but the title of the episode “The Red Woman” also denotes that we’re likely to see the Lady Melisandre play a role in the premiere.
Daenerys was last seen being picked up by a horde of Dothraki so that would likely explain the strong man she meets after being kidnapped by the pillaging group of warriors.
And finally Cersei seeing her daughter again is reference to Myrcella Baratheon, who was killed by poison at the end of last season courtesy of Ellaria Sand on her way out of Dorne and her body will be brought back to King’s Landing courtesy of her father/uncle Jamie Lannister.
So that’s what we know for sure but there will be plenty more to come when Game of Thrones returns on Sunday night, April 24. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our Game of Thrones season 6 preview coming soon from Nerdcore Movement!
