Veteran actor Gary Oldman says that producers behind Star Wars have reached out to him about a possible role in ‘Episode VII’….
Gary Oldman has to be one of the best character actors of all time. He’s played everything from Commissioner Gordon in three Batman movies to a drug dealing pimp in movies such as ‘True Romance‘.
Now Oldman may land a role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII movie because producers from the film have reached out to him inquiring about his services.
The 55-year old British actor isn’t sold on the fact that he’s going to be offered a part just yet, but the folks behind Star Wars have definitely reached out to him to see what’s possible.
“They’ve called,” Oldman confirmed to Sky Movies. “I’m more cynical about it (casting calls) now. I’ll believe it when I’m on the plane home. They’ve inquired.”
Oldman has been a part of several major movie franchises including Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, the Harry Potter movies and will also star in the upcoming summer blockbuster Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
From the sound of things, Star Wars producers have reached out to every major actor and actress working in Hollywood today, but Oldman would be a tremendous addition if they can land him.
