‘Gotham’ was one of the most highly anticipated new series of 2014 and the ratings for the Batman prequel series have stayed solid all season long so it seemed like a no brainer that the show would get picked up for season 2.
FOX made it official on Saturday as ‘Gotham’ was officially renewed for a second season with the network.
The show, which focuses on a Batman-less Gotham City, features Jim Gordon before he was the commissioner as he tries to turn around a city corrupted by crime and violence while a young Bruce Wayne deals with the recent loss of his parents.
‘Gotham’ has also received high praise critically since the inception of the show as well and now there will be more to watch as the series wraps up season one this spring before moving into season two later this year.
‘Gotham’ returns for a new episode this Monday on FOX at 8pm ET.
