Gotham will continue to explore a world before Batman existed after the show was renewed for a third season on Wednesday….
Bruce Wayne will take another step towards becoming Batman as Gotham has officially been renewed for season 3 on FOX.
The show starring Ben McKenzie as Detective Jim Gordon has been a solid rating success for FOX throughout the first two seasons and now the series has been ordered for another 22 episodes in season 3.
“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham,” said Fox president David Madden in a statement. “For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama. This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”
Gotham is currently still in the midst of season 2 but the show will wrap this spring before season 3 debuts in the fall.
Gotham airs at 8pm ET on Monday nights on FOX.
