Michael Chiklis knows a thing or two about playing a cop and he’ll reprise that role as part of ‘Gotham’ season 2….
For seven seasons, Michael Chiklis played outlaw cop Vic Mackey on the popular and acclaimed FX series ‘The Shield’ and now he’s picking up his badge and gun again — this time playing police on Batman’s turf.
Chiklis has joined the cast of ‘Gotham’ season 2 in a series regular role where he will play Captain Nathaniel Barnes who is described as a cop who “lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force. He is a law and order zealot; unafraid of making enemies – on either side of the law. For Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Barnes is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong ally to Gordon but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy.”
Chiklis most recently guest starred in the final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’, working alongside his old show runner from ‘The Shield’ Kurt Sutter as well as his role on ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’.
‘Gotham’ season 2 will debut on FOX on Monday, September 25 at 8pm ET.
