‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ won’t hit theaters until next weekend but Marvel was so happy with the film that they’ve already given the green light to a sequel…
For all the different Marvel franchise movies made over the last few years, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ appeared to be the biggest risk. The team was compiled of less than obvious Marvel Universe characters not to mention one member was a human tree and the other was a talking raccoon.
Still enigmatic filmmaker James Gunn was able to bring all of the elements in this world together and make a film that’s expected to open up at No. 1 next weekend at the box office and the early reviews have all been nothing but positive.
So it didn’t take long for Marvel to give the go ahead to green light the sequel now called ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’, which will land in theaters on July 27, 2017.
Marvel also revealed that the film will be directed by James Gunn, who also worked on this feature film about to be released on August 1.
