Everybody knows Henry Cavill is coming back as Superman for the ‘Justice League’ movie but it may not be the same hero we’ve always known….
Superman is back — and apparently he’s back in black.
It’s just about the worst kept secret in superhero Hollywood that Henry Cavill is set to return as Superman for the upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie despite his character dying at the end of ‘Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ following a battle with the monster known as Doomsday.
Much like the comic book origins of this story, Superman eventually returns from the grave (as all comic book characters seem to do) but it took some time before the real Man of Steel was back flying over Metropolis.
It appears director Zack Snyder is possibly teasing a similar resurrection story for Superman in the ‘Justice League’ movie after Cavill unveiled a very mysterious look at the suit he’ll be wearing for the film.
It’s clear the teaser was sent out to keep fans guessing about Superman’s eventual return in the ‘Justice League’ movie but there’s a chance that even this image won’t tell the real story about the character’s intentions until the film is released.
In one version of the comic book story from 2012, the villain Darkseid creates a Superman clone and he wears the black costume while under his control. Darkseid is expected to be revealed as the big bad for the DC Extended Universe after his soldier Steppenwolf fills the villain role for the first ‘Justice League’ movie.
Is it possible that Cavill is returning to play an evil Superman clone? Or is he just coming back with the black suit Superman wore following his original death with Doomsday?
Or is Cavill playing a joke on us all and he just chose the black and white filter on Instagram?
We’ll all find out when the ‘Justice League’ movie is released on November 17, 2017.
