Independence Day: Resurgence may not be getting the same level of attention as some of the big superhero releases in 2016 but this movie is definitely a throw back to the summer blockbuster phenomenon.
The original Independence Day helped set the mark for what it meant to be a huge summer film and now 20 years later the sequel is set to land in theaters with an even bigger alien threat hovering over Earth.
“Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.”
