One of the most iconic comic books in history is getting a reboot as The Infinity Gauntlet returns to Marvel in 2015…
In 1991, Marvel launched one of the most ambitious and critically acclaimed ‘event’ series in comic book history with ‘Infinity Gauntlet’ running for six-issues from writer Jim Starlin and artists George Perez and Ron Lim.
The series focused on the Mad Titan Thanos as he collected the six Infinity gems — Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Reality, and Power — and went on a quest to appease the embodiment of Death, who he longed after for years.
In a blink of an eye, Thanos wipes out half of life in the universe before finally being defeated by Earth’s heroes when the series came to an end.
Now it appears the gang is getting back together again after a press release from Marvel on Tuesday teased a new Infinity Gauntlet series coming in 2015.
There are literally no details about the book or who will be involved with the series, but the infinity gems did take center stage in a number of Marvel books over the last couple of years including the big series event, Infinity, which also featured Thanos as the lead villain battling The Avengers and other heroes.
It seems Marvel is going back to the well on a few stories next year after also announcing a new Civil War crossover coming in 2015 as well.
