Stephen King’s terrifying thriller ‘It’ will come back to life on the big screen under the direction of Cary Fukunaga and the first casting for the film has just been announced.
Will Poulter — who is best known for his role in the comedy ‘We’re the Millers’ as well as ‘Mazerunner’ — is set to play Pennywise the Clown in the upcoming horror film.
The original TV miniseries that still terrifies people to this day had Tim Curry playing the evil clown, but after originally searching for an older actor, the filmmakers decided to go in a different direction and cast Poulter instead.
‘It’ will be split up into two films under Fukunaga’s direction with the first movie focusing on a young group of kids called The Losers Club who battle an evil entity that preys on children that happens to inhabit their small town in Maine only to find out years later (in the second film) that the creature is still alive and coming back for a new generation of killing.
