The director behind the horror hit ‘It Follows’ is returning to the genre to pen the script for an upcoming movie titled ‘They Hear It’…
David Robert Mitchell — best known as the writer and director behind the surprise smash hit ‘It Follows’ — is returning to horror for a new movie that he’ll be writing but not directing.
The film is called ‘They Hear It’ based on a concept short from Julian Terry, who is on board to direct the feature.
‘They Hear It’ is described as: “an ominous presence that stalks the children of a small town by emitting a mysterious noise called The Sound that attracts younger people, presumably to their doom.”
While plot details are scarce, ‘They Hear It’ is apparently akin to horror classics such as Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’, Stephen King’s ‘It’ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’.
The film will be produced by Legendary with Mitchell writing the script and Terry on board to direct.
There’s no word yet on how quickly the film might go into production once Mitchell returns his script.
