Harry Potter author JK Rowling has released the first part of a two part series telling the history of the Quidditch world cup….
Fans of Harry Potter can rejoice in new material released today by author JK Rowling, as the writer has penned the new story ‘History of the Quidditch World Cup’ on her personal site Pottermore.com.
The story is part one of two in which Rowling will go through the history of the fictional game first discussed in the Harry Potter book series.
“Immerse yourself in the rules and regulations of the tournament, governed by the International Confederation of Wizards’ Quidditch Committee, from the structure of the tournament to some of the more unusual and controversial entries in the Quidditch World Cup rulebook concerning on- and off-pitch magic.
“Discover which famous Quidditch player orchestrated one of the most dangerous (and murderous) events in the history of the Quidditch World Cup, displaying “the worst exhibition of temper ever given by an individual player”
Part two of the story will be released next Friday, March 21 documenting the Quidditch World Cup from 1994 through 2014.
