John Boyega will go from the Star Wars saga to leading the new Pacific Rim 2 sequel coming soon….
John Boyega — who is currently filming Star Wars Episode VIII — has just been cast as the lead role in the upcoming Pacific Rim 2 film from director Steven S. DeKnight.
The news was confirmed this week by Boyega on Twitter.
I'll be taking on the Pacific Rim franchise with Steven S.Deknight directing. Very excited!

Boyega is expected to play a character that is the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first Pacific Rim movie from director Guillermo Del Toro. At this time, Elba isn’t expected to reprise his role although final casting for the movie isn’t complete yet.
