Katey Sagal will join her husband as he travels to England for his next series at FX titled “The Bastard Executioner”….
Veteran actress Katey Sagal — best known for her role as the matriarch on “Sons of Anarchy” as well as several years on “Married…With Children” — has a new gig and it will keep her close to home. Or at least close to her husband.
Sagal announced on Monday via a conference call with reporters that she will have a part in husband Kurt Sutter’s next drama set for FX titled “The Bastard Executioner”.
“I’m going to be in it. We don’t know in what capacity yet, because he’s just starting to work on it. But that’s where we’re going. I will definitely be involved with it,” Sagal said on Monday.
Sagal told NerdcoreMovement.com prior to the start of the final season of “Sons of Anarchy” that she was still figuring out what was going to happen next for her career after the FX series wrapped, but Sutter’s plans would probably include her in the cast.
“The Bastard Executioner” surrounds the story of a knight in the time of King Edward III, who lays down his sword amidst the ravages of war, but when violence in the area escalates once again, he’s forced to come out of retirement for another bloody tour of duty.
Sutter just wrapped the final episode of “Sons of Anarchy” about two weeks ago and has stated he will begin work on the new script for “The Bastard Executioner” in the very near future. The plan is for the series to begin shooting in England next year with a potential fall 2015 debut date on FX. The show has been ordered to pilot thus far, but no series commitment given just yet.
