Kathy Bates — who starred in both ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ and ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ — has officially signed on to star in the new fifth season — ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’.
‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy confirmed the news via Twitter on Wednesday.

As Murphy stated on Twitter, Bates will be the owner of the hotel where the series is set this season. She joins Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley and Lady GaGa as series regulars on the upcoming season.
Details about the story remain a mystery, but chances are a few trailers will start to leak out by the end of summer to begin teasing the upcoming year ahead.
‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ debuts in October on FX.
