Kevin Feige Expects More ‘Avengers’ Movies to Happen ‘At Some Point’

“Avengers: Endgame” brought an end to the Infinity Saga but Kevin Feige doesn’t believe that will be an end to “The Avengers” movies…

As Marvel Studios continues to plan Phase 4 beginning with “WandaVision” debuting on Disney+ on Friday, Jan. 15, there are still a lot of questions about the future of important franchises like “The Avengers.”

When Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was quietly orchestrating the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), he started with pieces such as “Iron Man,” “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Thor” before eventually teaming them all up together in the first “Avengers” movie.

Three more sequels followed including “Avengers: Endgame,” which brought an end to Phase 3 in the MCU while also saying goodbye to several key characters including Tony Stark/Iron Man and Steve Rogers/Captain America.

While there are a ton of films in the works from Marvel Studios as part of Phase 4 including “The Eternals” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” there are still questions about the larger story that might culminate in something similar to the Infinity Saga. Of course perhaps an even bigger inquiry remains the future of “The Avengers” movies now that both previous leaders are no longer part of the MCU.

Well according to Feige, he definitely plans to return to future “Avengers” films but he can’t be exactly certain when that might happen given the current agenda he’s putting together.

“I would have to think so,” Feige told IGN when asked about the return of ‘The Avengers’ movies. “I would have to say yes, at some point.”

Losing key members like Iron Man and Captain America would certainly be a blow to “The Avengers” roster but the good news is throughout the comic book history of that particular team, there have been dozens upon dozens of members who have joined.

In fact in comic book canon, Sam Wilson aka Falcon actually took over leadership of The Avengers at one point and he’s still very much part of the MCU with his role in the upcoming “Falcon and Winter Soldier” series. There are also several new characters joining the MCU including Blade (Mahershala Ali), who eventually became full fledged members of the main Avengers team.

With a different roster of heroes soon appearing in the MCU, it will be interesting to see who ends up taking the reins as leader to form the new Avengers before a film actually comes together.

At least we now know for certain that “The Avengers” will return.
