The new series ‘The Leftovers’ from Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta will get a second season at HBO…
With three episodes left to go in its freshman season, ‘The Leftovers’ has officially been picked up by HBO for another year as announced by the network on Wednesday.
‘The Leftovers’ has been a critical success for HBO with solid ratings week to week, but the ground swell of attention has grown as the series has pushed forward deep into the first season. Following a successful freshman campaign, HBO has opted to give ‘The Leftovers’ a second season.
“We are thrilled to bring back The Leftovers for a second season with the exceptional talents of Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta,” said HBO President Michael Lombardo. “It has been truly exciting to see the overwhelming response to their provocative and original storytelling. We look forward to continuing the journey as the show delves deeper into the lives of those who remain.”
The series is based on a book of the same title by Perrotta and was adapted for television by the author as well as ‘Lost’ co-creator Damon Lindelof.
The next episode of ‘The Leftovers’ airs this Sunday night on HBO
