Maggie Siff was no longer around for the final season of Sons of Anarchy but she watched and admitted that the show’s grim ending was tough to witness…
Maggie Siff was one of the main components of Sons of Anarchy for six full seasons before her character Dr. Tara Knowles was killed in the penultimate season finale.
Siff is now starring in the new Showtime series Billions (which is excellent for those curious) but she did stick around to watch the final season of Sons of Anarchy even though she was no longer part of the show.
Admittedly, Siff says watching the final season — particularly the story arcs for both Jax and Gemma — were tough to watch because the ending was never going to be happy for almost anyone on that show.
“That whole season was really hard to watch,” Siff said recently. “We all knew it was never going to end well for anybody. When you’re making a show that’s loosely based on Hamlet, you know almost everyone is going to die. It was just a question of when and how.
“I felt very sad watching Jax and Gemma die. Watching it play out at home on a TV screen without me was surreal.”
Siff hasn’t really said much about the show since she finished her story line back in season six and when the series wrapped over a year ago and much of the previous cast appeared after the finale to say goodbye, she was was nowhere to be found.
It appears Siff has moved on with her professional career but still kept her Sons of Anarchy family close to her heart even if it was breaking to watch them all say goodbye in the end.
