Following the success of Ant-Man earlier this year, Marvel is set to release a sequel titled Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018….
Marvel has upped the ante for their phase 3 films with Ant-Man getting a brand new sequel and a co-star!
Ant-Man and the Wasp will open on July 6, 2018 starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne. It’s the first Marvel sequel named after one of its heroines as well.
The new Ant-Man and the Wasp sequel also pushes a couple other movies out of their pre-determined release dates. Black Panther will now land in theaters on February 16, 2018 and Captain Marvel to March 8, 2019.
Marvel also announced three more untitled films with release dates set on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020.
Ant-Man earned over $400 million globally as the primary Marvel release this summer, coming on the heels of Avengers: Age of Ultron in May. Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man will next appear in Captain America: Civil War due out on May 16, 2016.
