In celebration of the day that would have served as Stan Lee’s 100th birthday, Marvel announced a new documentary centered around the beloved creator that will be coming to Disney+ in 2023.

Marvel teased the project along with a tagline that stated “100 years of dreaming. 100 years of creating. 100 years of Stan Lee” along with the news that the documentary would be coming soon.

Lee, who played a part in creating some of the most famous Marvel characters in history including Spider-Man, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and the X-Men, sadly died in 2018, just over a month shy of what would have been his 96th birthday.

Of course to the new generation of fans discovering his characters through a vast library of Marvel Studios’ films, Lee was a mainstay with cameo appearances in numerous movies including the original “Iron Man” all the way through “Avengers: Endgame,” which was ultimately a posthumous cameo following his death.

Lee is often celebrated as one of the greatest comic creators in history after he helped build Marvel into a juggernaut in the industry, often times working alongside Jack Kirby to make new characters with vibrant stories that injected a lot more real life into the fantasy setting.

Lee continued promoting and working with Marvel over the years, appearing at comic book conventions, doing speaking engagements and essentially serving as the face of the company for most of his life.

Following his death, there was an outpouring of support and messages of adoration showered upon Lee thanks to his incredible influence that will undoubtedly continue for years to come.

There’s not much known yet about what the documentary will cover but Marvel released a brief teaser video along with the announcement that you can see below. Keep an eye out for more information about the Stan Lee documentary as it becomes available.
